Jill's blessing day

Today was Jill's blessing day. She is so sweet, she really is the perfect baby. She eats about 4 times in a 24 hour period. She goes to bed between 8 and 9 and hasn't been getting up till 6. I love it. Then she usually takes a couple naps one of which is typically 5 hours. Not only does she sleep well but she smiles whenever she makes eye contact with one of us. We all love to talk to her and get a smile. Brynlee especially loves Jill and is always playing with her and wanting to hold her. I was getting ready and JIll was fussing so Brynlee asked to hold her. I kept thinking she would want to put her down since she was fussing but no Brynlee held her until Jill fell asleep and then she enjoyed holding a sleeping baby, too cute.

Here are a couple of pictures from our special day.

Just us girls. (Only cuase Chaz was napping!)
Isn't she so sweet!!!

Jill has been a lovely baby. She sleeps most of the day. Chaz loves her and does a good job keeping her supplied with kisses.

First day of 1st grade

Wow 1st grade is going to be very hard for me to adjust to. Autumn seems to be enjoying spending the whole day at the school. She comes home happy and that is really the most important thing. I am having a harder time than she is. Where is she all day? I feel like I barely get to see her. I must say that having a baby a week before school starts is far from ideal. I didn't get to go with her and Ben to the back to school night and Ben has taken and picked her up all week. I feel so out of the loop. I haven't even met her teacher and I can't picture where she is all day as I haven't seen her classroom. But at least she comes home happy. She can't quite decide which is better - hot or cold lunch. She made a lot of mistakes the first hot lunch she took and was embarrassed, but she is the "only" one in her class who brings their lunch and that was embarrassing too. She doesn't have any girls in her class she knows, her teacher yells more than the kindergarten teacher, and she can only get a drink during recess and doesn't want to have to wait in line. Oh all the things to adjust to and learn. She is handling it all well and hasn't cried yet. What a brave little girl.

Summer swim lessons

We have done swim lessons for last past month and every Thursday Bryn has gotten to jump off the diving board. She loves the water and swimming on her own but always had to have her teacher hold her hand as she jumped. Well on our last day she did it all by herself. She was so proud of herself and I was too.

Autumn's class has been learning to dive. This is her first experience with the idea of diving and she thinks it is so cool, but it is hard and as you can see she still needs some work. She is an amazing swimmer and loves that she can out compete a lot of the older kids. She has really got it down and I am sure she can out perform me. Her class had to tread water for 2 minutes and she was right there the entire time. She amazes me, I love to see her so confident at something.

Aren't my little swimmers so cute.

Fourth of July!

We had a great Fourth of July weekend. We were able to spend it with Ian and Steph's family at their home. We did all the crazy Fourth of July traditions. Parades, food, crowds, and fireworks. Ian and Ben went mountain biking and Steph and I took the kids to a really fun park. There are no parks with ducks and lots of toys where we live so we really enjoyed the park. Steph and I staked out a plot for the parade. We were so shocked by the amount of chairs and blankets that were put out the afternoon before. It was kind of fun to join the crowds and pick a spot we thought would work. However, we didn't think about sprinkler systems and when we got to the parade all our blankets and chairs were literally dripping wet. We still enjoyed the parade, well should I say the kids enjoyed the parade (Does any adult enjoy the parade?) We skipped the city fireworks and enjoyed a show on Ian's driveway. Wahoo we had the kids in bed by 8:30. Much more my speed then staying out all night with too many little ones. Well, we had lots of fun and are just grateful they live close enough for us to visit and have someone to celebrate with.

It's Official

Yep we've known for about 9 months and now it is official. We are without our grandparents. They have been set apart and tomorrow they enter the MTC. Crazy!!! We had so much fun the last week and a half spending time with the entire family. Most of us were able to go with them to Elder Oaks office and be there as Elder Oaks and Pres. Snow, of the Seventy, set them apart as President of the Halifax Mission and as a missionary and special representative of the Church. It truly was an amazing experience to be there together and to see the care the Lord has over His church. I am just so amazed by the responsibilities of the twelve apostles and that the Lord is so watchful of the missionary program that the settting apart of the mission presidents is not delegated away from the Twelve.

Well not only did we get a spiritual feast this past week, but we definitely got a family feast as well. Dave's family flew home and all the rest of us who weren't working were also at my parents home. We did a lot of entertaining the grandkids, but it was a lot of fun.

We went to lagoon...had a family dinner of over 100 people, listened to grandma and grandpa speak in sacrament meeting, roasted hot dogs on the fire, went out to eat, went to the dollar store, the park, ice cream, and even celebrated Conrad's birthday. It was a full week of kids. Hopefully my girls will remember how much fun they have at Grandma's with all their cousins. Next time we get together Autumn will be nine and my unborn babe will be a few weeks from her third birthday - too weird. Well here are a few more pictures of our week at grandma's.

Hair cutting party

This is upon my mom's request, the girls told her they cut their hair and she wanted to see how short. So here is a view of our summer haircuts. Ben thinks we should go somewhere professional, but I am too cheap and did it myself. They are thrilled with their new looks, when they care about style I quess I'll have to quit being so cheap. Even Chaz got his done - just a buzz cut like his daddy. He looks cute.

Summer time here we come

Yeah!!!! We now have warm weather and our amazing dad put together a swingset/playset for us and the kids only come inside to sleep. I am serious, they even eat their lunches outside, Chaz included. Chaz loves it outside and throws a fit if he has to come in. Today he even played in the sprinklers for the first time and was soaked. We love it!!

Yesterday for family home evening Ben took us to see Shoshone falls, "The Niagra of the West." It was beautiful, it was a lot bigger than I thought it would be and the amount of water flowing over the falls was incredible. Beautiful! I can't believe we have lived here this long and this was our first time to see the falls.

Are we in Kansas, Todo?

We had blustering winds last night, all day, and into tonight. We had a horse romping through the neighborhoood as we left for Church, it seemed we should've let the owners know, but well we don't know who are the owners. It was entertaining to see a horse in the neighborhood.

Now I know we moved to the edge of the developed area and we have horse pastures to the south and to the west. But I was surprised tonight to see three cows in our front yard. How funny. They liked our grass - perhaps becuase there is not much of it in our neighborhood. Ben and I thought perhaps the banging we heard outside was the wind and the fence. But looking out the window we found three cows grazing in the grass, sniffing at the car, and moving around the garbage can. Well, I quess we can enjoy a bit of the farm life.

Family Vacation

I wanted to do a family trip before I was too pregnant to enjoy anything. We know most of the usual summer adventures for us are out of the picture this year, so we took a trip to the great city of Boise Idaho. The girls had the most fun swimming at the hotel. My girls are amazing swimmers, Autumn can swim laps and tread water, Brynlee can swim from one end to the other if she stays close to the wall, so they were free to play and play they did. We went to the zoo, the science center, bowling, shopping, and eating. But really swimming at the hotel was the best part of the trip.
Oh and of course - Chuckie Cheese. That was our first experience with Chuckie Cheese and can I say I hope I never have to go again. The girls loved it. Brynlee kept telling us that when you go there you get to see the mouse cause he is there and I kept telling her he was just on the commercials. Well she was right and very excited when she got to shake his hand. Anyway we were glad to get home, but Brynlee is missing the swimming pool.
